Muscat: Astronomical autumn will officially begin in the Northern Hemisphere on Wednesday, September 23, 2026, according to the Astronomical Affairs Department.

The autumnal equinox is scheduled to occur at 4:05 AM MCT, marking the moment when the sun appears to cross the celestial equator moving southward.

This celestial event signals the start of autumn for countries north of the equator while simultaneously marking the arrival of astronomical spring in the Southern Hemisphere.
