Oman participates in 15th General Conference of ICESCO in Tatarstan
Kazan--- The Sultanate of Oman, represented by the Ministry of Education, participated in the 15th General Conference of the Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ICESCO), held in the city of Kazan, the Republic of Tatarstan.
The Sultanate of Oman’s delegation was headed by Dr. Badr Hamoud Al Kharousi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education for Education.
The session addressed several key topics, most notably the report of the Executive Council on its activities between the 14th and 15th sessions, as well as the draft strategic plan for the Organization's work and its budget for the years 2026–2029.
In his address, the Undersecretary affirmed the Sultanate of Oman's steadfast position calling for the consolidation of the foundations of security, stability, and peace, and the promotion of peaceful coexistence, dialogue, and mutual understanding based on mutual respect among peoples.
He highlighted the importance of prioritizing dialogue, diplomacy, and adherence to the principles of international law as means to address the challenges facing the Islamic world.
He stated that Oman places great importance on developing its education system within the framework of Oman Vision 2040. This vision, he said, focuses on building qualified human capital equipped with future-ready skills, keeping pace with the requirements of the knowledge economy and digital transformation, while fostering an institutional culture based on integrity, innovation, and educational quality.
He also noted Oman's commitment to preserving natural and cultural heritage, both tangible and intangible, as well as documentary heritage. He affirmed Oman's pride in the inscription of several Omani sites and elements on the Islamic world heritage lists.
