Muscat: Under the patronage of Her Highness the Honourable Lady Assayida Ahd Abdullah Hamed Al Busaidi, Spouse of the Sultan of Oman, the Ministry of Social Development inaugurated the Tranim Al Amal (Melodies of Hope) Band. The event was held on Monday at the theatre of the Royal Guard of Oman Command.
This humanitarian and artistic initiative embodies the generous commitment to empowering persons with disabilities and special needs. It aims to open broader horizons for them to express their talents and abilities. Furthermore, it seeks to showcase their passion and refine their creative energies through music and the arts.
Upon the arrival of the Honourable Lady, she was received by Dr. Laila Ahmed Al Najjar, Minister of Social Development, and Maj. Gen Salim bin Ali Al Hosni, Commander of the Royal Guard of Oman, alongside several senior officials.
At the beginning of the ceremony, the Royal Anthem of Oman was played. Subsequently, a visual presentation was screened, illustrating the stages of establishing the Tranim Al Amal Band. The film also highlighted the continuous training and rehabilitation efforts that accompanied the band’s development. These efforts reflect the unwavering determination and sincere resolve of the band members. They also demonstrate the promising creative energies and capacity for contribution possessed by these individuals, provided they are given a supportive and nurturing environment.
The ceremony featured a variety of musical performances. These performances blended the spirit of authenticity with contemporary horizons. They also combined distinctive features of Omani art with masterpieces of global music. These artistic tableaux expressed the band’s message and its inspiring humanitarian meanings. The performances were delivered by the Tranim Al Amal Band with artistic and training support from the First Royal Band for Music and Folk Arts (affiliated to the Royal Protocols at the Diwan of Royal Court), the Royal Guard of Oman Music, and the National Autism Centre.
The inauguration of the Tranim Al Amal Band follows the directives of the Honourable Lady to support this cherished group within society. It aims to enhance their presence across various domains. The initiative also stems from the Ministry of Social Development’s commitment to discovering and developing their abilities. It includes refining their artistic skills through specialised training programmes delivered in partnership with governmental and private sectors. Ultimately, this contributes to empowering these individuals, strengthening their active participation, and reinforcing the values of social responsibility among all institutions equally.
