Muscat: According to the Public Prosecution report, Muscat Governorate has recorded the highest number of cases with 20,852, followed by North Al Batinah Governorate with 7,500 cases, and Dhofar Governorate with 4,457 cases.
The majority of cases (32,856) were received from the Royal Oman Police, followed by 5,757 cases submitted through the Public Prosecution's e-services portal and 4,142 cases referred by the Ministry of Labour.
Labour law crimes topped the list of the five most common crimes in 2024, with 12,407 cases, followed by cheque crimes (9,699), foreign residency law crimes (9,154), fraud crimes (5,343), and theft and extortion crimes.
