Muscat: Yusuf bin Alawi bin Abdullah, Minister Responsible for Foreign Affairs, affirmed that the constant efforts being exerted by the Sultanate in relation to pushing the ongoing Yemeni negotiations in Kuwait forward come as per the Royal Directives of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos.
In a statement to Oman News Agency (ONA), Alawi said that the importance of the Omani role in these negotiations stems from the nature of relations binding the Sultanate with each parties. He added that disagreement between the two parties is among the means to reach consensus and reconciliation to rebuild Yemen.
He pointed out that the United Nations (UN) envoy for Yemen, as well as 18 countries are taking part in these negotiations, which would undoubtedly contribute in helping conflict parties reaching the prospective consensus.
