Under the patronage of Saif bin Mohammed Al Shabibi, Minister of Housing, the book launch was hosted at the Ministry of Higher Education, in the presence of a number of Shura Council members and representatives of state-owned companies and those who are interested in the construction, reconstruction and contracting.
Date and building tips were collected and prepared by a group of experts and specialists.
According to Laith bin Abdullah Al Harthy, the general supervisor of the encyclopaedia, the book offers more than 5,000 text, visual and audio advices for first time house buyers.
He pointed out that the move towards the age of information requires bold initiatives and concerted efforts by different sectors to guide young pioneers.
The event coincides with the Muscat International Book Fair.
In addition, this edition offers a better understanding of the construction market and mechanisms of savings and the economy involved in the construction of a modern house.
“It aims to spread the culture of the two market elements (supply and demand) as there are a lot of engineering solutions and tricks that one can use to create efficient and less costly houses,” Al Harthy said, adding that this concept is essential for sustainable and practical solutions.
The encyclopaedia will be available in local markets and libraries by the end of March. Its exact date will be announced in the coming days.
