Global Entrepreneurship Week marked in A’Dakhiliyah Governorate

Adam: The events of Global Entrepreneurship Week, organized by the SMEs Development Authority "Riyada" department in the A’Dakhiliyah Governorate opened today in the Wilayat of Adam, Al Dakhiliyah Governorate.

The event, themed "Entrepreneurship Inspires and a Future is Built", coincides with the celebration of this occasion in more than 180 countries around the world.

The events, which continue until 12 November, include a number of awareness and training programs and activities aimed at spreading the culture of entrepreneurship, encouraging innovative initiatives and projects, and enhancing the business environment in the governorate.

Organising the week comes within the framework of efforts aimed at consolidating the culture of self-employment, developing entrepreneurial skills among youth, and encouraging them to transform their creative and innovative ideas into successful and sustainable economic projects.

This is alongside enhancing communication and cooperation between entrepreneurs and investors, providing opportunities to exchange expertise and successful experiences, and benefiting from training programs, workshops, and specialized consultations.

The opening ceremony included a number of segments and activities, including an entrepreneurial competition, a visual presentation about Global Entrepreneurship Week and its goals, and a theatrical play that addressed the importance of entrepreneurial work and its role in developing a spirit of initiative and creativity. This was alongside an accompanying exhibition that reviewed a number of entrepreneurial ideas and projects, and workshops that addressed the culture of entrepreneurship and electronic marketing.

The week's events are distributed across a number of wilayats in the Al Dakhiliyah Governorate and include organising dialogue and specialized sessions to introduce the importance of entrepreneurship and the opportunities available to owners of ideas and emerging projects. This is alongside training workshops in the fields of marketing, packaging, and product development, which contributes to developing the capabilities of entrepreneurs, raising the efficiency of their projects, and enhancing their competitiveness and access to local and foreign markets.

The events also include allocating a corner for the "Entrepreneurial Child," which encompasses practical applications in pottery making and freehand drawing, an interactive theater, competitions, and educational and recreational activities.

This is alongside showcasing stories and experiences of children who managed to establish small projects, with the aim of instilling the concepts of saving, production, and self-employment among the youth, and developing their skills in creative thinking and innovation from early age stages.

The week's events are considered an opportunity to enhance partnership and integration between government and private institutions, entities supporting entrepreneurship, and owners of small and medium enterprises.

They also serve to introduce the available services, facilities, and financing and training programs, helping entrepreneurs develop their projects, expand their activities, achieve sustainability and growth, and enhance the contribution of this sector to economic and social development, in harmony with the targets of Oman Vision 2040.

The opening ceremony was held under the auspices of Dr. Mohammed Ali Zaabnout Al Mahri, Wali of Adam.
