Oman, Jersey sign agreement on elimination of double taxation

Muscat: The governments of the Sultanate of Oman and Jersey on Wednesday signed in Muscat an agreement on the elimination of double taxation with respect to taxes on income and the prevention of tax evasion and avoidance between the two countries.

The agreement aims to provide legal protection for investors against double taxation and regulates taxation mechanisms, thereby enhancing investment and trade exchange between the two countries.

The agreement was signed on behalf of the Government of the Sultanate of Oman by Nasser Khamis Al Jashmi, Chairman of the Tax Authority, and on behalf of the Government of Jersey by Ian Gorst, Minister for External Relations. The step crowns the efforts of both sides to consolidate economic and financial cooperation, facilitate the flow of mutual investments, and open new horizons for trade partnership between the two countries.
