IMF mission to conduct Article IV consultations in Oman from Sunday

Muscat – Oman, represented by the Central Bank of Oman (CBO), will host an International Monetary Fund (IMF) mission from October 25 to November 8 for periodic Article IV consultations.

The visit aims to review the Sultanate’s latest economic and financial developments and discuss economic policies and future prospects, including fiscal and monetary policies, financial stability, external sector developments and structural reforms to support sustainable economic growth.

During the visit, the IMF mission will meet representatives of relevant government entities, the private sector, the banking sector and civil society organisations to assess Oman’s economic and financial performance and exchange views on key developments, challenges and opportunities.

Article IV consultations are a key component of the IMF’s economic surveillance of member countries. They involve assessments of economic conditions and policies, along with discussions on growth prospects and potential risks, helping strengthen policy dialogue and promote economic and financial stability.

Oman reaffirmed its commitment to transparency in economic performance and enhanced international cooperation, in line with the objectives of Oman Vision 2040 and the government’s efforts to achieve comprehensive and sustainable development.
