
Muscat : The Public Establishment for Industrial Estates (Madayn) announced four investment opportunities in Sur Industrial City, as part of its efforts to create an integrated and attractive investment environment and attract more investments in industrial and service activities, in line with the objectives of Oman Vision 2040.
Engineer Nasser bin Hamoud Al Mabsali, Director General of Sur Industrial City, explained that the opportunities include the establishment and operation of a medical services center (private hospital), the establishment and operation of a specialised training center, the operation and management of a quarry for fill materials, and the establishment, operation, and management of an integrated residential complex.
He added that the opportunity to establish and operate the medical services center involves developing, operating, and managing a comprehensive medical center within Sur Industrial City to provide primary healthcare and ancillary medical services to employees of companies operating in the city and residents of neighboring areas.
Al Mabsali noted that the land area allocated for the project is flexible, and the contract duration is 30 years, renewable.
Al Mabsali explained that the opportunity to establish and operate the training center aims to create and manage a specialised center that contributes to supporting industrial and service activities, raising workforce efficiency, and providing training and qualification programs that meet the needs of investors and employees within the industrial city and surrounding areas.
The Director General of Sur Industrial City indicated that the third opportunity involves equipping, operating, and managing a quarry for fill materials within the industrial city's boundaries, covering an area of 45,000 square meters, with a contract period of up to three years.
He further explained that the fourth opportunity includes developing, operating, and managing an integrated residential village to meet the increasing demand for housing and accommodation services for companies operating in the industrial city, in accordance with occupational health and safety requirements and the standards of the Oman Energy Society. The available land area for the project is 182,000 square meters, and the contract period extends for 30 years, renewable.
It is worth noting that the total cumulative investment in Sur Industrial City by the end of the first half of 2026 amounted to approximately OMR 2.3 billion , and it employs 1,843 workers, including 1,076 Omanis. The industrial city continues to develop its infrastructure and enhance its investment environment, as it recently completed the detailed designs for the shipbuilding and maintenance facilities project, the general and detailed design of the city's master plan, in addition to the trial operation of the solar power plant (Sur 1), which qualifies Sur Industrial City to play a leading role in supporting the growth and development of the industrial sector in the Sultanate of Oman.
