Consumer Protection Authority seizes 1,609 school supplies in Al Dakhiliyah

Muscat: The Consumer Protection Authority (CPA) has seized 1,609 school supplies in Al Dakhiliyah Governorate for carrying drawings and designs deemed contrary to public morals.

The seizures were made during field inspection visits conducted by the authority as part of its “Back to School” campaign, aimed at monitoring the markets and ensuring that school-related products comply with consumer protection regulations.

According to the CPA, the seized items included school supplies bearing designs and illustrations that violated applicable public-morality requirements.

The authority said the violations were referred to the competent judicial enforcement officers and that legal procedures were taken against the offenders in accordance with the Consumer Protection Law and its executive regulations.

The inspection campaign forms part of the authority’s efforts to strengthen market oversight, protect consumers and ensure that products available in the market meet the required standards, particularly during the back-to-school season.
