
Al Buraimi: Al Buraimi Governorate has offered 153 investment opportunities in the food security sector through the Tatweer platform by the first half of 2026, covering a total area of 4,900.58 acres.
Dr. Ahmed bin Saif Al Amri, Director General of Agriculture and Water Resources in Al Buraimi, said the opportunities were developed in coordination with the Directorate General of Housing and Urban Planning to boost the agricultural and livestock sectors' contribution to GDP and align with Oman Vision 2040.
He pointed out that the opportunities span date palm, potato, garlic and seedling production, along with a tissue culture laboratory, agricultural sorting and packaging centres, livestock fattening projects for camels, cattle and sheep, fodder production and specialised veterinary clinics.
He added that the existing investment projects in the governorate's agricultural and water resources sector reached 69 by mid‑2026, covering more than 5,832 acres with an investment value of OMR38 million.
He said that the plant sector accounted for 42 projects across 2,655.3 acres, valued at OMR9.13 million, including 11 local wheat cultivation projects on 1,246.9 acres worth RO 2.88 million.
He concluded that the livestock sector saw 15 projects across about 1,775.6 acres, valued at OMR25.86 million, covering red and white meat, eggs, fodder, feed supplements and veterinary medicines.
