Muscat: Dhofar Governorate has officially opened activities at Atin Square and Shaat Viewpoint, offering visitors two of the season's premier destinations as part of the governorate's expanded tourism and entertainment program during the Khareef season.
The opening forms part of a broader initiative to enhance visitor experiences through upgraded recreational facilities and integrated infrastructure, reinforcing Dhofar's position as one of the region's leading summer tourism destinations.
At Atin Square, visitors can enjoy newly developed public spaces featuring innovative entertainment activities, family-friendly attractions, and modern facilities that blend contemporary design with Oman’s rich cultural heritage. The project complements the redevelopment of the Al Haffa waterfront, creating vibrant leisure destinations for residents and tourists alike.
Meanwhile, Shaat Viewpoint in Rakhyut ولاية (Wilayat) offers breathtaking panoramic views of Dhofar's dramatic cliffs and coastline, where the seasonal mist merges with lush green mountains during the Khareef season. The site provides dedicated viewing platforms, walking trails, and photography opportunities, making it one of the governorate's most iconic natural attractions.
The developments are supported by significant improvements to Dhofar's transport infrastructure, including expanded strategic road networks designed to ensure safer and smoother travel between mountains, natural springs, beaches, and tourist landmarks.
This year's Khareef season also features 125 international and local events, including theatre and sculpture festivals, live artistic performances, cultural activities, and family entertainment programs catering to visitors of all ages.
