
Muscat: Total assets of the Islamic banking sector in the Sultanate of Oman rose to approximately OMR9.8 billion by the end of May 2026 registering an increase of 9.2 percent compared to the same period last year.

Data issued by the Central Bank of Oman (CBO) indicated that the total outstanding financing provided by Islamic banking sector units increased by 10.5 percent to reach approximately OMR7.9 billion.
Deposits at Islamic banks and windows also recorded an increase of 11 percent, reaching approximately OMR7.8 billion by the end of May 2026.
