Muscat: Indian School Al Mabela honoured 113 students for their outstanding performance in Academics at its Annual Academic Excellence Award ceremony on 28th August 2016.
The ceremony was presided over by the Chief Guest, Engineer: Mohammed Bin Ibrahim Al Balushi, Vice Director General of Seeb Municipality and the Guest of Honour, Dr Salam Nasir Al Khali, member of Majilis Al Shura, Representative of Saham.
The function began with the lighting of the lamp by the esteemed dignitaries, followed by the Welcome Address by the Principal, Mr P. Prabakaran. The Chief Guest and the Guest of Honour presented the awards to the students and expressed their happiness to be amongst the students who have excelled in their studies. Thereafter, the Classical and the Semi- Classical dances charmed the audience. The song by the school choir spoke of motivation to the students.
In his Presidential Address, Mr Kurien Chandrathil, The President of the School Management Committee, ISAM congratulated the students and said that they ought to find mentors at home and at school for they are the reason for success. The Omani dance by the boys of the Middle Section thrilled the audience. The song ‘I Just Keep Trusting my Lord’, sung by Miss Nakshathra of class 6 conveyed a message that we should have faith in God for he never fails us.
In her Vote of Thanks, Dr Gladis Diana Sivkumar, the Vice Principal, thanked everyone for making the ceremony a success. The day’s ceremony came to an end with the singing of the School Anthem by the School Choir.
