Al Buraimi Municipal Council reviews developmental, service projects

Al Buraimi: The Municipal Council of Al Buraimi Governorate discussed several service and developmental topics and followed up on the latest updates of projects and initiatives in the governorate. This took place during the council's meeting on Wednesday, chaired by Sayyid Dr. Hamad Ahmed Al Busaidi, Governor of Al Buraimi.

The council clarified that several developmental and service projects are proceeding according to approved plans, including the Al Buraimi Oasis project, road maintenance projects, and the development of the general landscape of main roads, alongside the artificial lake project.

The council also touched upon the ongoing preparations for organising the Al Buraimi Governorate Camel Racing Championship, scheduled to be held next week. Additionally, it discussed initiatives to develop several tourist sites, including Al Khatwa village and Falaj Al Sa'arani, and a proposal to establish a nature reserve at Jebel Al Samini, where the council reviewed visuals related to the site and its associated environmental aspects.

During the meeting, the council reviewed a visual presentation provided by the Department of Heritage and Tourism in Al Buraimi Governorate regarding the design proposal for the rehabilitation of the old Souq of Harat Hamasa.

The presentation included the project's key features and its objectives in preserving the heritage character of the site and enhancing its tourism and cultural value. This initiative aims to support economic activity and highlight the governorate’s historical assets, in addition to establishing a heritage village at the site to serve as an extension of the Al Buraimi Oasis project. The council recommended the formation of a working group to follow up on aspects related to the project.
