
Muscat: The Sultanate of Oman on Wednesday took part in the 75th meeting of the Committee of Undersecretaries of Ministries of Finance in GCC states.
In the meeting, held via video conferencing, Oman was represented by Abdullah bin Salim Al Harthy, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Finance.
The officials discussed the outcome of the meetings of Governors of GCC Central Banks, the GCC Customs Union Authority, the Committee of Heads of GCC Tax Departments and the GCC Common Market Committee.
They also took note of the latest developments in negotiations for the Free Trade Agreement (FTA) between GCC states and other countries and international groups, and they were briefed about the GCC Payment Linking Agreement.
The officials reviewed projects and studies being conducted by the Office of the GCC Economic and Development Affairs Authority, as well as the programme on achieving GCC economic unity. They also followed up decisions made at the 124th meeting of the GCC Financial and Economic Cooperation Committee.
Wednesday’s meeting was in preparation for the 125th meeting of the GCC Committee for Financial and Economic Cooperation.
