Oman explores means of attracting high-tech pharmaceutical industries with China

Beijing: A delegation from the Public Authority for Special Economic Zones and Free Zones (Opaz) is currently visiting the People's Republic of China.

The visit aims to explore high-tech industries in the fields of pharmaceuticals and medical devices, as well as to enhance cooperation with partnerships in the logistics sector and the storage of petroleum derivatives.

The delegation is headed by Eng. Ahmed Hassan Al Dheeb, Deputy Chairman of the Public Authority for Special Economic Zones and Free Zones, and includes several officials from the economic zones, Khazaen Economic City, and SOHAR Port.

During the visit, the delegation toured several Chinese cities, meeting with government officials and companies specialising in biopharmaceuticals, as well as oil and petroleum storage facilities. Furthermore, the delegation conducted field visits to economic zones and advanced factories producing medical equipment.

Chinese companies expressed a positive interest in investing in the Sultanate of Oman and learning about the incentives offered within the economic and free zones, as well as the industrial cities.
