
Muscat: The first international conference on business sustainability and enhancing the investment system in the Sultanate of Oman will commence on Monday at the campus of the University of Technology and Applied Sciences in Muscat.
Organised in partnership with the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion, the two-day conference aims to serve as a scientific and professional platform bringing together decision-makers, industry leaders, academics, researchers, and investors.
The event will focus on key themes including business sustainability, innovation, and the enhancement of Oman’s investment environment. It aligns with national efforts to strengthen the Sultanate’s position as a competitive and sustainable investment destination, in line with the goals of Oman Vision 2040.
Key topics on the agenda include foreign direct investment, public-private partnerships, regulatory reforms, innovation, and long-term economic sustainability.
Dr. Khalid bin Salem Al-Abri, Assistant President of the university, said the conference is designed to foster dialogue, exchange expertise, and build partnerships among stakeholders. He emphasized that it will contribute to generating practical insights and innovative ideas to support Oman’s investment ecosystem.
He added that hosting the conference reflects the university’s commitment to its academic and societal role in advancing economic development and strengthening collaboration between educational institutions and both public and private sectors.
The conference is expected to offer valuable opportunities for networking, knowledge exchange, and exploring the latest trends, challenges, and opportunities related to business sustainability locally and globally.
It also highlights the growing role of higher education institutions in shaping policies and practices that promote investment, innovation, and sustainable development.
