Washington – The United States Central Command (CENTCOM) announced today that the number of US soldiers killed as a result of military operations against Iran has risen to six, following the discovery of two previously unreported service members.
CENTCOM did not disclose further details regarding the location of the deaths, stating only that the remains were recovered earlier from a facility that had been attacked during Iran’s initial raids in the region.
The announcement comes as the United States Armed Forces has reportedly targeted more than 1,250 sites inside Iran in an effort to weaken Iranian air defense systems and prevent further missile launches.
For its part, Iran indicated that it had launched hundreds of ballistic missiles and more than 700 drones targeting American and Israeli bases and vital facilities across the Middle East.
