'Together We Progress' forum to open tomorrow in Muscat

Muscat: The fourth edition of the Together We Progress Forum will begin tomorrow, Sunday, in Muscat. The annual event is organized by the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers in line with the directives of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik to strengthen communication between the government and society and to listen to citizens’ views, proposals, and aspirations across various sectors.

The forum aims to brief citizens on government policies, development programs, and national initiatives while providing a platform for open dialogue with decision-makers. It will also allow participants to share their concerns, ideas, and challenges in a constructive participatory environment.

This year’s agenda includes a series of panel discussions and dialogue sessions addressing key issues of public interest that contribute to comprehensive national development. The first day will focus on Oman Vision 2040, reviewing progress made toward its targets five years after implementation, as well as discussing the economic and developmental tracks of the 11th Five-Year Plan.

Sessions will also explore investment prospects in priority economic sectors, including manufacturing industries, tourism, and the digital economy, alongside the role of the private sector in strengthening investment in these fields. An evening session will highlight governorate development and its role in boosting investment across these priority sectors.

On the second day, discussions will address improving government services to enhance productivity and competitiveness, freelancing and entrepreneurship as drivers of a productive national economy and sustainable labor market, and a dialogue session on the economy and business environment. The forum will also feature an accompanying exhibition titled “Achievements of the Present and Visions of the Future.”

During the forum, winners of the Idea Makers – Hamam program will be announced. The initiative aims to promote creativity and innovative thinking, support talented youth, contribute to sustainable development, and reinforce the values of active citizenship.
