Asian woman apprehended for mocking Omani Rial in social media post

Muscat: The Royal Oman Police (ROP) confirmed that an Asian woman has been apprehended and is facing legal action for a social media video deemed disrespectful to the Omani Rial.

The video reportedly included a caption along the lines of "POV: How my family thinks I make money," while depicting conduct that authorities classified as "insulting and disparaging" to national banknotes.

 The Directorate General of Inquiries and Criminal Investigations monitored the footage, identified the individual, and referred the case to the public prosecution.
