Muscat: Represented by the Ministry of Education, the Sultanate of Oman joined hands with the rest of the world in celebrating World Teachers’ Day, which falls on 5 October every year.
Since the role of the teacher is to nurture and groom generations to prepare them for the future, it has been a tradition among local, regional and international institutions to honour teachers and express appreciation for their mission in serving their respective communities.
This year’s celebration was held under the theme “Recasting teaching as a collaborative profession”, expressing gratitude for the role of teachers in establishing society in a manner that promotes cooperation and partnership.
Through specialised training programmes, the Ministry of Education seeks to upgrade the standard of teachers and enable them to use modern technologies in preparing educational content and syllabus. -ONA
