Muscat: The Sultanate of Oman has welcomed the efforts led by the United States of America, under the leadership of President Donald Trump, to halt the war in the Gaza Strip and reach an agreement that ends the suffering of the Palestinian people and guarantees their legitimate rights.
Oman also welcomed Hamas's response to the proposal, which paves the way for a complete withdrawal of Israeli occupation forces from Gaza, creates conditions for reconstruction, prevents the displacement of the Palestinian people, and supports efforts aimed at achieving a just and comprehensive peace.
While underlining its confidence in the efforts made by all countries to find a peaceful and lasting solution in Gaza, Oman expressed hope that these efforts would result in the urgent and effective delivery of humanitarian aid to Palestinians and the establishment of a peace based on the two-state solution.
This, Oman affirmed, would ensure the Palestinian people can establish their independent state on the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital, in accordance with international legitimacy resolutions and the principles of international law.
