Muscat: The Sultanate of Oman, represented by the Ministry of Higher Education, Scientific Research and Innovation, in cooperation with the Arab Open University, will host the Digital Universities in the Arab World 2025 Conference on Tuesday under the theme: “Digital Innovation for Sustainable and Flexible Higher Education.”

The conference aims to discuss the latest global trends in digital university education, showcase pioneering experiences in the transition to innovative and sustainable education, and explore prospects for cooperation between Arab universities in the fields of educational technology, artificial intelligence, and blended learning.
The conference will attract more than 300 participants and over 80 specialised speakers from 28 countries, along with the participation of more than 100 organisers and nearly 70 higher education institutions, reflecting the strong momentum and shared commitment to advancing the digital transformation of the region’s higher education sector.
The conference provides a platform that brings together university leaders, experts, industry partners, and innovators in the Arab region to discuss the role of digital innovation in reshaping the higher education system and explore the exceptional opportunities offered by digital transformation and artificial intelligence in developing teaching and learning methods, supporting the goals of sustainability, globalization, and social responsibility in education.
The conference programme includes panel discussions and specialised workshops, covering a variety of topics, including: the future of hybrid and virtual learning, the impact of artificial intelligence on academic institutions, governance models in light of digital transformations, and mechanisms for evaluating universities’ responses to technological developments and their impact on graduates’ lives after graduation.
