Khasab: The Professional Association of Diving Instructors (PADI) has awarded the Musandam Dive Exploration Center a 5-Star Dive Resort certification, recognizing its commitment to the highest standards of professionalism in dive education and the delivery of world-class tourism services.
This achievement marks a qualitative leap for the center, elevating its specialized diving training and education programs while reflecting its dedication to sustainability in the diving industry and enhancing the tourism experience in Musandam Governorate—a leading destination for adventure tourism and marine activities in the Sultanate of Oman.
PADI is the world's largest diving training organization, with over 6,600 dive centers and resorts and more than 128,000 certified instructors across 186 countries and regions. The organization is renowned for its high-standard educational programs, enabling millions of people annually to learn diving and participate in ocean and marine life conservation activities.
Sayyid Ibrahim Said Al Busaidi, Governor of Musandam, stated: "The certification of the Musandam Dive Exploration Center as a PADI 5-Star Dive Resort solidifies the governorate’s position on the international tourism map.
This accomplishment builds on Musandam’s successive achievements in the tourism sector, including the remarkable success of the Musandam International Diving Festival, which garnered significant local and international attention. Such milestones highlight the governorate’s unique offerings and reflect the integrated efforts to promote sustainable tourism development in line with Oman Vision 2040."
On his turn, Badr Mohammed Al Shehi, Director of the Musandam Dive Exploration Center, said: "Receiving the PADI 5-Star Dive Resort certification is the culmination of years of hard work and adherence to global standards. We are proud to join the global PADI network and aim to deliver exceptional diving experiences that showcase Musandam’s unique natural and marine attractions.
