Muscat: The Royal Academy of Management (RAM) has launched the Executive Leadership
Programme for Heads of Departments.
With the aim of empowering heads of government departments in Oman to make more impactful contributions to their organisations, the inaugural executive learning programme is designed to elevate their leadership skills and strategic- decision making competencies.
The landmark new programme is guided by the impetus of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik to equip leaders in Oman with refreshed capabilities and empowerment skills, and aligns with the objectives of Oman Vision 2040.
The Executive Leadership Programme for Heads of Departments is part of a series of RAM’s strategic initiatives and programmes running this year to develop and enhance effective leadership and innovation traits of heads of departments in the government sector, expanding their ability to become more impactful leaders.
The programme aims to increase the understanding of institutional innovation, promote sustainability, and enables participants to proactively adapt to rapidly unfolding in today’s and tomorrow’s public sector.
The programme will consists of five learning modules covering diverse topics, including self-leadership and team leadership, leading organisations, motivational leadership and negotiation skills, creative thinking, and adaptive leadership.
Participants will also navigate financial planning and government investment strategies, project management, and risk management. The programme will include field visits, presentations of technological simulation experiences, as well as mentoring sessions, and a hackathon.
It is anticipated that participants in the programme will achieve several key outcomes, particularly the ability to embody creative thinking in leadership, which will equip them to take an innovative approach to problem-solving.
The participants will be able to apply innovation in the workplace, build effective teams and develop innovative solutions, and will be able to focus on enhancing confidence and developing impactful communication skills.
The Executive Leadership Programme for Heads of Departments will run for 30 participants, including heads of departments and those holding equivalent positions within the units of the State Administrative Apparatus, including civilian and military units.
Eligible candidates will have practical experience of not less than two years and are not older than 40 years of age.
The first round of applications for the programme will be open shortly to eligible heads of departments and through the registration platform for programmes and initiatives of the Royal Academy of Management.
Applications should arrive between Sunday, 27 April 2025 until Sunday, 11 May 2025.
