Political Affairs Undersecretary receives UN official

Muscat: Sheikh Khalifa Ali Al Harthy, Undersecretary of the Foreign Ministry for Political Affairs received here on Wednesday Carl Sacco, Deputy Executive Director General and Director of Operations at the World Food Programme (WFP).

During the meeting, the two sides reviewed aspects of cooperation between the Sultanate of Oman and The UN Programme and explored ways to enhance them.

The guest commended Oman's role in addressing regional issues and its cooperation in providing food aid to countries affected by conflicts and wars.

Sheikh Khalifa expressed his appreciation for the role of the World Food Programme (WFP) in assisting those in need in Gaza, Yemen, and Syria.

The meeting was attended by Mohammed Abdullah Al Qatabi, Head of the International Organizations Department, and Dr. Abdullah Al Wardat, Director of Government Partnerships and Director of the WFP Programme in Lebanon.
