Muscat: HH Sayyid Theyazin bin Haitham Al Said, Minister of Culture, Sports and Youth, chaired the meeting of the main committee tasked with the Sultanate of Oman's participation in Expo 2025 Osaka, in Japan.
In its meeting, held in Muscat today, the committee reviewed the latest preparations for the Sultanate of Oman’s participation in the global forum, including the readiness of the pavilion, now in its final stages of construction, and the start of experimental activities therein.
HH Sayyid Theyazin, Chairman of the Main Committee, valued the efforts made by the Committee and the Commission for the readiness of the pavilion. He stressed that Oman’s participation in the global event should reflect the country’s unique status among the countries of the world.
Sixteen agreements were signed by the Commission to support the Sultanate of Oman’s pavilion. The signing ceremony was attended by the Main Committee and CEOs of the supporting establishments and companies, including St. Regis Al Mouj Muscat Resort.
Sayyid Said bin Sultan Al Busaidi, Commissioner General of the Sultanate of Oman Pavilion at Expo 2025 Osaka, signed the agreements in the presence of representatives of Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI), the Authority for Small and Medium Enterprises Development (ASMED), Oman Environmental Services Holding Company (Be’ah), ITHCA Group and Onsor Technologies LLC, in addition to representatives of other companies and public and private sector establishments.
The meeting included a visual presentation about Oman’s preparations for Expo 2025 Osaka and the design of the pavilion.
During the event, a briefing was given about various aspects of cooperation between Oman and Japan and the rights and privileges that will be granted to the supporting establishments and companies during the Sultanate of Oman’s participation in Expo Osaka 2025.
Expo 2025 Osaka is hosted by the Japanese city of Osaka under the slogan “Designing Future Society for Our Lives.”. It is scheduled to take place from 13 April to 13 October 2025 on the Island of Yumeshima in Osaka Bay. The global event brings together different countries that will together celebrate innovation and technological advancements and discuss solutions to global challenges.
