Oman conference on generative artificial intelligence kicks off

Muscat: Organised by the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology, the “Oman Conference on Generative Artificial Intelligence” kicked off on Wednesday under the theme “Future of Smart Economy 2024”.

The conference, held in cooperation with SAS Media Company, takes place at the Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre.

The two-day conference will see the participation of local and international experts and specialists who will discuss the role of generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) in enhancing smart economy in the Sultanate of Oman.

The ceremony was held under the auspices of Dr. Saud Hamoud Al Habsi, Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources.

The conference included three discussion sessions. The first dealt with generative artificial intelligence as a driver of future development.

The second discussed the effects of quantum computing on artificial intelligence technologies.

The third session looked into changing business patterns in the era of artificial intelligence.

The conference also saw the opening of a technical exhibition showcasing the products of technical companies, their latest innovations and smart solutions developed locally.

On the sidelines of the conference, winners of a contest titled “Engineer it with Artificial Intelligence” were felicitated.
