Environment Authority catches hunters accused of animal cruelty

Muscat: The Environment Authority has issued a statement on a video circulating on Instagram, which includes scenes of hunting and torture of a number of wild foxes and destruction and burning of bird nests.

A statement issued online by the Authority said: "With reference to the video circulating through the social media platform (Instagram), which includes scenes of hunting and torture of a number of wild foxes and destruction and burning of bird nests, the Environment Authority in cooperation with Public Prosecution, has begun to search for those people and they have been caught. The  legal procedures are being completed against them."

"The Environment Authority calls on everyone to cooperate and report violators of wildlife conservation rules in the Sultanate, and calls on everyone to preserve and preserve wildlife in order to remain safe and sustainable in their natural environments," the statement added.
