MUSCAT: Muscat Science Fest, the science and technology arm of the Indian Social Club Kerala Wing, is organising a science fair for students in Oman called Science Project Contest - 2020 (SPC 2020) and an exhibition and competition of science projects through the online platform on December 18 and 19 from 9am to 2pm.
This time the event is organised using the online platform TouchQ. About 300 projects were received from various schools in Oman. The top 30 projects have been selected for the competition. The organisers have announced attractive prizes for the best projects and all the preparations for this event have been completed.
Dr Felix Bast, a renowned scientist and member of the Indian Antarctic Exploration Team and Assistant Professor at the Central University of Punjab, will inaugurate the science fair. Indian Social Club Oman Chairman Dr Satish Nambiar and PM Jabir, Secretary, Indian Social Club Oman Community Welfare Section will address the function.
Two webinars also have been organised as part of the event. Former ISRO scientist PM Siddharthan will speak on "Life in Space" at the Webinar on Friday, December 18 at 11am. Oman time. On Saturday, December 19, at 11am Oman time, Bhabha Atomic Research Centre scientist K Jayarajan will give a lecture on "Nuclear Radiation and Its Applications".
