‘A Long Walk – Memories of life’ to be released on November 7

Muscat: Maqbool Hameed Al Saleh, a prominent corporate leader in Oman has announced the release of his memoir on November 7.

Titled ‘A Long Walk – Memories of life’, the book authored by Maqbool Hameed Al Saleh along with Dr Masooma Al Saleh, presents a personal account of Maqbool’s long and inspiring journey from humble beginnings to success, recounting multitude of interesting experiences and defining moments that have shaped his life through this long journey.
Sayyid Badr bin Hamad bin Hamood Al Busaidi, Foreign Minister – Sultanate of Oman has consented to release the book at Majlis Al Khonji, an online platform that brings together Oman’s leading business personalities.

Speaking on the upcoming release of the book, Maqbool Hameed said, “I am deeply honoured and grateful to have my memoir released by His Excellency Sayyid Badr coinciding with the commemoration of Oman’s 50th National Day, a time of great pride and joy for all Omanis. I am excited and humbled at the thought of sharing my memoir with my family, friends, the community and the people of this great country. I believe that memories and stories that we have lived serve as powerful emotions that can inspire generations of our people to come, and I intend to ensure that all our efforts and experiences gathered to bring out the spirit of our endeavours and drive our progress.”

‘A Long Walk – Memories of life’, provides a rich and engaging account of Maqbool’s life and times over 7 decades; from modest beginnings, family roots and home in olden day Muttrah in 1945 to a vivid portrait of growing up in challenging times with a closely-knit society; moving through changing and progressive times from the advent of Oman’s modern renaissance in 1970 and the constant pursuit of excellence through to this day. The memoir covers Maqbool’s experience with various people, places, travels, food and cultures; reminiscences family, successes and failures, passion and adventures.
