Muscat: In celebration of the Omani Women’s Day, which falls on 17 October of each year, Muscat Electricity Distribution Company (MEDC) hosted a virtual ceremony over Zoom attended by the company’s chairperson, Manal Mohammed Al Abdawani, and an array of inspiring and influential women in the Sultanate as well as female employees.
The chairperson expressed her appreciation for the great organization of this event reiterating her pride and satisfaction with the Company’s efforts to employ the Omani women, train them and secure a motivating work environment that leads to more success for the company, its employees in general and the female employees in specific.
The ceremony started with a lecture by Hawraa AlMusawia, Psychologist, on “Psychological flexibility at work”, followed by the first GCC Theta-Certified Trainer Eman Zaqwaniya, who delivered a speech entitled “Lift yourself”; the event concluded with Dr Lamya Al Haj, Social Activist and a speech informing the audience on “how to have a positive impact on society”.
It is worth noting that Muscat Electricity Distribution Company observes the occasion of Omani Women’s Day every year as part of its core belief in the important roles women play in the development of their communities and the country, a reminder on the need to better empower women at workplace as well as a token of appreciation to their valuable contributions in the various sectors.
