Oman's share index ends marginally lower

Muscat: The MSM index closed at 3,684.50 points, down 0.20 per cent from the previous close.
The Sharia Index ended down 0.07 per cent at 519.41 points. Al Jazeera Service, up 2.35 per cent was the top gainer while Oman Fisheries, down 4.65 per cent, was the top loser. Renaissance Service was the most active in terms of the number of shares traded and also was the most active in terms of turnover.
A total number of 405 trades were executed during the day's trading session, generating a turnover of OMR1.6 million, with more than 8.8 million shares changing hands. Out of 31 traded stocks, 7 advanced, 8 declined and 16 remained unchanged. At the session close, foreign investors were net sellers for OMR602,000 while local investors were net buyers for OMR541,000 followed by GCC and Arab for OMR62,000 worth of shares.
Financial Index closed by 0.28 per cent at, 5,954.17 points. Al Madina Investment, Al Madina Takaful, Al Anwar Holding, National Bank of Oman and Bank Muscat were down by 4.17 per cent, 2.60 per cent, 1.45 per cent, 0.58 per cent, and 0.52 per cent respectively.
Industrial Index closed at 3,967.11 points, down 0.11 per cent. Al Anwar Ceramic, Al Jazeera Steel and National Aluminium were up by 1.23 per cent, 1.05 per cent and 0.91 per cent respectively. Oman Fisheries and Raysut Cement were down by 4.65 per cent and 1.24 per cent respectively.
Services index was up 0.21 per cent before closing at 1,572.67 points. Al Jazeera Service, Al Batinah Power and Al Suwadi Power were up by 2.35 per cent, 1.89 per cent, and 1.85 per cent respectively. Renaissance Service was down by 0.61 per cent.
