Muscat: A seminar on facilitating technology transfer from the United States will be organised by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry in association with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on May 19.
The seminar, which will be attended by the officials at the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, will highlight the major aspects of the general framework agreement on transferring science and technology between the US and Oman, and also the governments’ eagerness to promote bilateral relations.
The agreement aims at enhancing meaningful cooperation between the two countries through mutual visits by scientists and researchers, and training opportunities. A series of workshops, joint seminars and projects in the science and technology field have also been envisaged in the agreement.
Dr. Youssof Ben Abdullah Al-Baloshi, project manager at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, will be the keynote speaker at the seminar.
The cooperation agreement facilitating science and technology transfer between the Sultanate and the US was signed in Davos, Switzerland, on January 22, 2016, and has been authenticated by Royal Decree N. 18/2016.
