Muscat: There is no scientific evidence suggesting that food is associated with the transmission of COVID-19, according to the World Health Organization Eastern Mediterranean Regional Office (WHO EMRO).
A statement issued online by WHO EMRO said, “There is currently no scientific evidence suggesting that food is associated with the transmission of COVID-19.”
The statement added, “To stay safe and healthy as you prepare your favourite Eid meals, wash your hands well before and after handle food, use surface disinfectants for cleaning surfaces and equipment, wash fruits and vegetables thoroughly with clean water especially if you eat them raw and cook foods to at least 70°C.”
