Muscat: In response to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, Crisis Management Committee in Mazoon Electricity Company, the leading electricity provider in Oman, has rolled out several precautionary measures and business endurance plans to ensure uninterrupted workflow.
By closely monitoring developments concerning the virus, Mazoon Electricity is taking all necessary steps to ensure the wellbeing of employees and to prevent any potential business or community impact.
Based on the guidelines provided by the Ministry of Health, Mazoon Electricity has already briefed employees, customers, internal and external stakeholders on essential preparatory and prevention measures. This was managed by the employees through close coordination with their direct supervisors to ensure business continuity.
Mazoon Electricity distributed an HSE message among employees urging them to strictly comply with health instructions to protect themselves from the virus attacks and advised them on the steps to be taken to reduce risk from virus infection. The message urged employees to immediately report to the HSE department in the company in case of symptoms of fever, cough, shortness of breath and difficulty breathing.
The company also distributed several internal and external publications detailing the Covid-19 information on nature, symptoms, the spread and preventive measures. The poster which was prepared in multiple languages, including Arabic, English and Hindi, provided information on the treatment process and the golden rules to promote physical and mental health.
Mazoon Electricity has also permitted a ‘work from home’ policy, which applies to all employees whose jobs allow them to work remotely.
