Muscat: ARA Petroleum celebrated the closing event of its ‘ARA Day 2020’ around the theme of HSE spirit at a ceremony held in Shangri-La’s Barr Al Jissah Resort and Spa. The event, which coincided with the HSE Day, reflected and celebrated ARA Petroleum’s safety culture and performance. Asserting the importance of safety and health, the event made an impressive impact on the participants.
ARA Day is an annual event arranged by ARA Petroleum for the staff of its assets ARA Petroleum Exploration and Production, ARA Petroleum Oman B44 and ARA Petroleum Oman B31. The event was also attended by senior executives of The Zubair Corporation’s group of companies.
Al Zubair Al Zubair, director, The Zubair Corporation who was the guest of honour at the event presented the winners with awards which was centred around the company’s values and represented the principles of integrity, business conduct, people, technology, excellence and collaboration.
Addressing the staff, Al Zubair Al Zubair congratulated them on the milestones accomplished during the past years and urged them to seek further growth to achieve further operational and individual success.
Hamed Al Shibani, HSE Manager of ARA Petroleum Exploration and Production, staged a presentation on how the company reached a milestone of ‘target zero’ in 2019 by adhering to its HSSE policy of ‘No Harm to People, No Harm to the Environment’.
A ceremony to mark the official launching of the ARA Academy with its slogan of ‘Our People, Our Value’ was held. During the event Muna Al Ghailani, Talent Management and Employee Relations Team Lead, made a presentation on the launch of the ‘comprehensive competency management solution’ which is designed to cater to ARA Petroleum and its staff.
HSE team energised the participants through exhilarating collaborative customised team building activities linked to the company’s values. The activities enhanced the safety culture of ‘target zero’ with ‘No Harm to People, No Harm to the Environment’.
In continuation with practices of the previous edition of ARA Day, Mr. Ola Fjeld, COO, ARA Petroleum highlighted the performance of the company during 2019. This was followed by a session of Q&A addressed by Sultan Al Ghaithi, CEO, ARA Petroleum.
