Muscat: The Bureau of the State Council on Wednesday noted the Annual report of the State Financial and Administrative Control Authority for 2018 and referred it to the Expanded Economic Committee formed by the Economic Committee and the heads of the Standing Committees of the Council, in accordance with Article (108) of the Council’s Internal Regulations.
The Bureau directed the Council committees to take advantage of the information and topics contained in the report while performing the proposals and studies it prepares.
The fourth meeting of the first annual session of the seventh term, chaired by Dr.Yahya bin Mahfoudh Al Mantheri, Chairman of the State Council was held in the presence of the Bureau members and the Secretary-General of the Council.
The Bureau discussed the restructuring of the friendship committees in light of what was agreed between the State Council and Majlis Al Shura regarding the representation of the Sultanate in regional and international forums and the nomination of the members of the bureau in the joint committee that will oversee the formation of these committees.
During the meeting, the Bureau hosted Sayyid Dr Said bin Sultan bin Hamoud Al Busaidy to discuss his proposal for “bank loans and insurance.” After discussing the proposal, the Bureau decided to form a working group to study the bank loan and insurance proposals.
The Bureau also decided to host Ahmed bin Ali bin Abdullah Al Habshi Al Amri, Head of the Social Committee, at its next meeting to discuss his proposal on “A package of projects to organise work and develop the frankincense sector and improve its investment.”
During the meeting, the Bureau was briefed about the Council of Ministers response to the State Council’s proposals on “the challenges facing the craft industry and ways to address them”, and “the challenges of private sector development and labour market policies.” The Bureau also reviewed several reports, including the report submitted by Dr. Khalid bin Salem Saidi, Secretary General of the State Council, pertaining to the visit of the Secretariat’s delegation to the Czech Republic in December 2019, the follow-up report on the decisions taken at the previous Bureau meeting and the report on the follow-up of the committee activities for the period between the previous Bureau meeting and the present meeting.
At the end of its meeting, the Bureau discussed the agenda items andtook the necessary decisions regarding it.
