Muscat: The Ministry of Regional Municipalities and Water Resources has issued Ministerial Decision No. 325/2019 amending some provisions of the health conditions regulation for activities related to public health.
The decision relates to the health requirements for mobile cafes where it said: “Electric stoves must be used in preparing authorized foodstuffs and another source may be used after obtaining the approval of the General Authority of Civil Defense and Ambulance ( PACDA ).”
“The mobile café activity is limited to providing snacks that have been fully prepared in the café or ready-made foods from a licensed store, such as preparing various sandwiches, hot drinks, pre-packaged or soft drinks, mineral water, ready-made juices and ice cream.”
“It is allowed to sell other drinks after fulfilling the relevant conditions and the approval of the competent municipality.”
The decision also stipulated that mobile café activity may only be practiced in the places specified by the municipality after obtaining the necessary approvals from the concerned authorities.
“Mobility is permitted between the places specified by the municipality from which the municipal license is issued to practice the activity,” the decision states.
The decision stipulated that all laws that contradict the amendments or be inconsistent with its provisions shall be canceled.
