Sayyid Fahd praises relations with Italy

Muscat: On behalf of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said, Sayyid Fahd bin Mahmoud Al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for the Council of Ministers, received at the Council of Ministers headquarters yesterday Giuseppe Conti, Prime Minister of Italy.
At the beginning of the meeting, Giuseppe Conti conveyed the greetings of the Italian President Sergio Mattarella and the Italian Government to His Majesty the Sultan, and their good wishes to His Majesty and the Government of Oman and the Omani people for further progress and development.
Sayyid Fahd bin Mahmoud Al Said expressed the Sultanate's welcome for the visit and the results that will be achieved, in terms of enhancing joint cooperation.
Sayyid Fahd conveyed the greetings of His Majesty the Sultan and his good wishes to the Italian leadership and the Italian people for further progress and prosperity.
Sayyid Fahd praised the growing relations that tie the two countries and the development witnessed for the benefit of the two people.
Conversations during the meeting dealt with the means of supporting bilateral cooperation in many fields. They also exchanged views on regional and international issues of mutual interest.
For his part, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Italy said that the visit is to develop the friendly relations between the two countries. He said that his country welcomes the joint cooperation between the two sides.
He praised the balanced policy adopted by the Sultanate, which earned it the respect and appreciation of all. The meeting was attended by Yousuf bin Alawi bin Abdullah, Minister Responsible for Foreign Affairs, Dr. Mohamed bin Hamad Al Rumhi, Minister of Oil and Gas, Federica Favi, Italian Ambassador to the Sultanate and the accompanying delegation of the Italian Prime Minister.
Earlier, Giuseppe Conte, Prime Minister of the Italian Republic arrived yesterday on a short visit to the Sultanate.
The Italian PM and his accompanying delegation were received by Yousuf bin Alawi bin Abdullah, Minister Responsible for Foreign Affairs, Dr. Mohammed bin Hamad Al Rumhy, Minister of Oil and Gas, Federica Favi, Italian Ambassador to the Sultanate and members of the Embassy.
