North Al Batinah leads in the number of sale contracts in Oman

Muscat: Value of traded contracts in real estate sector stood at OMR358,841,935 in March 2016 while the collected fees stood at OMR8,320,219, Abdullah bin Salim Al Mekhaini, Secretary of the Real Estate Registry at the Ministry of Housing said.
The number of sale contracts at the governorate-level stood at 6,708 with the worth of OMR104,041,454 while the collected fees stood at OMR4,440,252.
North Al Batinah recorded the highest number with 1,475 sale contracts followed by South Al Batinah with 1,404. In Muscat, 1,150 sale contracts were signed, while 639 were signed in Al Dakhiliyah.
In Dhofar , 470 contractswere signed while 441 contracts were signed in North Al Sharqiyah.
Likewise, 403 contracts were signed in the Governorate of South Al Sharqiyah, 383 contracts in Al Dhahirah, 184 in Al Buraimi, 134 in Al Wusta and 25 contracts in Musandam.
A total of 2,599 mortgage contracts worth OMR253,684,397 were signed across the Sultanate during the period with collected fees standing at OMR930,511, the official said.
The value of exchanged contracts stood at more than OMR1,116,000 and the collected fees amounted to OMR13,699 through 154 exchanged contracts.
In the North Al Sharqiyah Governorate 34 contracts were exchanged, which is the highest percentage among the governorates.
As for inheritance contracts, the Governorate of North Al Batinah registered the highest percentage by 542 contracts.
Al-Mekhaini added that 23,245 title deeds were issued in March 2016 including 5,057 in the Governorate of Muscat, 1,363 in the Governorate of Dhofar, 4,071 in the Governorate of South Al Batinah, 4,821 in the Governorate of North Al Batinah, 1,702 in the Governorate of North A’Sharqiyah, 1,237 in the Governorate of South A’Sharqiyah, 2,461 in the Governorate of A’Dakhiliyah, 1,744 in the Governorate of A’Dhahirah, 400 in the Governorate of Al Buraumi, 114 in the Governorate of Musandam and 275 in the Governorate of Al Wusta.
He further said that the number of new land plots registered for the first time during March 2016 stood at 4,810 including 4,105 residential land plots, 147 residential-commercial land plots, 65 commercial land plots, 69 industrial land plots, 353 agricultural land plots and 71 government land plots.
Al-Mekhaini concluded that the total number of title deeds issued for the GCC nationals according to the real estate possession conditions stood at 123 during November 2015.
