Muscat: The Center for Entrepreneurship & Business Incubation (CEBI), a unit of Modern College of Business & Science (MCBS), organised an open house last week at Hotel Grand Millennium Muscat.
Renowned international thought leader, mentor and entrepreneur, Ravinder Bhan, led the open house under the title “Entrepreneurial Perspective Development among youth in Oman.”
Dr Ahmed Al Naamany, Dean of MCBS; Dr Ana Stakic, Associate Dean; RaihanTaqui Syed, Director of CEBI; as well as other dignitaries were also present during the event.
Bhan held an interactive and engaging session with college students/graduates and shared his experiences to those keen on starting their own businesses.
He encouraged the students on creating unconventional ideas that can make life easier and called on the participants to sail away from safe harbours and explore, dream, and discover in order to make a difference.
“There is an entrepreneur in each one of you. I hope the number of businesses that would be registered next year would hopefully be from this audience,” he said.
Bhan shared his views on the basic qualities of becoming an entrepreneur and how an entrepreneur can create a difference. “Entrepreneurship is not about making money, being one’s own boss, enjoying freedom or evading unemployment but about the satisfaction received on delivering a product of utmost quality based on the customers’ needs,” he added.
In his address to the gathering, Dr Ahmed Al Naamany, Dean of MCBS, emphasised the need for students to generate new ideas, start their own businesses and create employment.
He called on the next generation to put in more spirit to their careers, visions and plans in order to explore the world lot of opportunities for investment for a successful future.
He underlined the role of women in today’s society and their contribution towards developing the economy of a country.
A three-day workshop will also be held from November 5 to 7, 2018, at Hotel Grand Millennium, Muscat. The workshop aims at developing Entrepreneurial Perspective and building competent entrepreneurs and entrepreneurs.
