Muscat: The Ministry of Sports Affairs on Tuesday honoured the winners of sports and youth achievement awards. The ceremony was presided over by Sheikh Khalid Al Marhoon, the Minister of Civil Service, and handed over the awards in the presence of Minister of Sports Affairs Sheikh Saad bin Mohammed bin Said Al Mardhouf Al Saadi and other sports officials.
In the field of sports, star spinter Barakat Al Harthi was selected as the best athlete while the other awards were won by Oman junior football team coach Yaqoob Al Sabahi (coach), Mansour Al Hajri (administrator), Abu Baker and Salim Al Ameri (referee).
In the national teams category, the award went to the national junior football team and the national shooting team for women.
In the sports teams of clubs category, the award went to first football team of Seeb Club. In the sports associations and committees, the winner is the Oman Camel Racing Association.
In the field of youth, the individuals awards went to Zaid Hamad Al Na’abi (social field), Salim Ahmed Al Habsi (scientific field).
In the field of arts, the award went to Salim Ahmed Khalfan Al Busaidi and Hanina bint Ahmed Hamood Al Juffaili. Sada Al Shabab Team won in the social field and Nano Team in the scientific field.
