Latest: Drivers in Oman raise safety concern after Ibri crash
Muscat: Eighteen people were killed and 16 suffered grave injuries in an early morning accident in Ibri, the Royal Oman Police (ROP) reported on Tuesday.
Three vehicles including a bus, a trailer and an SUV were involved in the accident.

According to the ROP, six Omanis, four Saudi nationals, two Pakistanis and one Yemeni were among the dead while the nationalities of the remaining five dead are yet to be identified.

Among those injured are 11 Omanis, two Saudi nationals, one Pakistani and a Chinese while another injured is admitted in the ICU.

According to sources, the bodies are kept in Ibri and Nizwa hospitals.
"Five people are admitted in ICU in Ibri Hospital," added the source.
Meanwhile, Gulf Transport Company (GTC) confirmed that their bus, which was heading to Dubai from Salalah, was involved in the accident.
“The bus was ferrying passengers,” an official from GTC Salalah office said.
