Oman, Iran to boost bilateral relations

Tehran: President Hassan Rouhani of Iran and Yousuf bin Alawi bin Abdullah, Minister Responsible for Foreign Affairs discussed bilateral relations between the two countries and ways of promoting them to achieve the aspirations of people of both the countries in all spheres.
During the meeting, Alawi conveyed the greetings of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said to President Rouhani along with His Majesty’s best wishes to him and the Iranian people further progress and prosperity.
On his turn, President Rouhani asked Alawi to convey his greetings and best wishes to His Majesty the Sultan and the Omani people continuous progress under the wise leadership of His Majesty.
President Rouhani described the relations between Muscat and Tehran as excellent. He considered them as a role model that may be followed in the relations among countries of the region.
Rouhani welcomed the expansion of economic, trade and investment relations between the two countries.
President Rouhani praised the Sultanate’s role in maintaining the march of peace and stability in the region.
He also pointed out that opportunities of cooperation between the two countries have made steady strides, affirming that these opportunities will increase after lifting the international sanctions on Iran for the interest of people in the two countries.
On his turn, Alawi welcomed the expansion of trade and investment between the two countries.
He said the cooperation between the two countries in these fields will continue for the interest of people in the Sultanate and Iran, as well as for the interest of all countries and people in the region. Alawi was received by Rouhani at the presidential premises in Tehran on Sunday.
