Labour law violators held in Oman

Muscat: A joint team at the Ministry of Manpower detained 503 labor law violators last week.
The team arrested the violators between February 2 and 18. 423 were commercial workers, 34 were farmers while 46 were domestic workers.
A total of 192 were found absconded from their employers, 235 were released and 27 were held as they were not carrying any documentation.
North Al Batinah Governorate registered the highest number of violators arrested with 171 followed by Muscat Governorate with 101.
Meanwhile, during the same period, the Ministry of Manpower deported 435 labor law violators after liaising with their respective embassies.
