Latest: Water woes in Amerat is over, says Oman's PAEW
Muscat: A water pipeline burst near Amerat roundabout in Muscat sent a jet of water high into the air and prompted officials to warn motorists about the hazard.
The pipeline, which feeds Amerat, caused major congestion on both sides of the street due to the sheer volume of water.
The Public Authority of Electricity and Water (PAEW) warned drivers about the incident and said that they were on the spot to repair the pipe.
“The water pump has been switched off until repairs are complete which is expected to take four hours. We ask all subscribers to take necessary measures,” said the PAEW.
