Muscat: An attempt to smuggle Khat near the coast of Mirbat was foiled due to efforts by the Dhofar Police Coast Guard and the Directorate General of Narcotics Control.
Officials secured two boats carrying a total of 1350 packages of Khat and arrested six suspects – Two Omanis while the rest are of Arab nationalities.
Further legal procedures will be taken against the smugglers.
